Week 9
8/3 - 8/7
Theme: Exploring water through play, movement, and simple science
This refreshing week blends STEM learning with sensory fun as children experiment, build, and play with water. Through hands-on challenges like designing water blasters, testing floating boats, and creating splashy games, kids explore how water moves, flows, and creates sound—while building curiosity, creativity, and teamwork in a playful, high-energy environment.
-
Build-and-Float Mini Boat
Constructed from recycled materials and tested for balance, buoyancy, and stability in water. -
Water-Powered Simple Machine
A pouring-powered wheel or launcher that demonstrates how moving water creates motion. -
DIY Water Blaster & Target Game (Combined Project)
A handmade water blaster paired with custom-designed targets, tested for distance, accuracy, and water control. -
Non-Stop Water Fountain & Pipe City
A bottle-based fountain system where children predict, test, and observe water pressure and flow. A collaborative water-flow city built with tubes, connectors, and ramps to guide water through paths, drops, and splits. -
Water Art Creation
Spray, drip, and bubble art using water and color to explore movement, patterns, and creative expression.
Skills Developed
Basic physics, scientific thinking, experimentation, observation, creativity, and problem-solving
Take-Home Value
Children take home their floating creations, water art, and the excitement of discovering science through play—plus a deeper curiosity about how the world works.
